I don't feel I am above people, and I hope that isn't the message that is sent by this work or this video.
I feel that this work is honouring the man, paying tribute to his existence. He is always out there selling phone cards- he may not be a great general or politician- but he is a part of our public sphere, more so than the average person.
They will never build a bronze public sculpture of "The Phone Card Booth Guy", but I thought he deserved a temporary pasteup.
I hope it was flattering to him, and not creepy.
